Karan Goshar
Co-Founder & Partner
Karan read law in the UK at Cardiff University and London School of Economics. He started his career as a practicing lawyer in the UK and then India. His defining assignment was the Innocence Project https://innocenceproject.org/ which tested him and also led him to focus on Criminal and Behaviourial Psychology.

His entrepreneurial journey started at 19 with setting up a Cookie Manufacturing Unit for one of India’s largest FMCG players.
Later stints included setting up a services business to aid his family’s construction business which was a leading Project Management Consultancy company based out of Mumbai. He diversified into Sheet Metal Fabrication to Engineering Outfits and Packaging Manufacturing Units.
Over the years Karan has invested and incubated various early stage companies and brings operational, distribution, financial prowess and experience to help companies scale.
His focus of investments over the last 3 years has been in Green Tech, Space Tech, AgriTech and ESG focused companies. With that focus he incubated a company called NutriFresh which has become the largest Hydroponic Farming Company in India. His passion lies in connecting with Founders and unearthing their potential through understanding their innate drive to build businesses.

Jatin Karani
Co-Founder & Partner
Jatin is the Co-Founder & Partner at Samarthya Investment Advisors LLP, a boutique advisory firm based in Mumbai, India that advises early stage and growth ventures on raising capital from Super Angels, Family Officers, VC and PE firms.
Jatin has 17 years of experience spanning Private Equity & Venture Capital Investing in India and Financial Advisory Services across Indian and US markets. Prior to starting Samarthya, Jatin was part of the PE/VC investing team at Enam Holdings, a leading Indian Family Office based in Mumbai, India and was responsible for deal origination, evaluation and negotiation across Consumer, AgriTech, Media, Technology and FinTech sectors.
Jatin Karani

Prior to his investing experience, Jatin was a Manager in the Corporate Advisory & Restructuring Team at Grant Thornton in their New York office. In this role, he provided financial & operational restructuring advisory services to management teams of underperforming / distressed companies and their financial sponsors in the North American market. He started his career with Frost & Sullivan in Mumbai focused on identifying global growth opportunities for Indian Pharma and Chemical companies.
Jatin enjoys working with early-stage ventures run by driven entrepreneurs and is happy to roll up his sleeves to help them in their growth journey to build scalable businesses. He is also an active investor in the early-stage space and has a portfolio of investments across Media, AdTech, Consumer, Electric Mobility and HealthTech space. He enjoys playing badminton and travelling.

Kunal Sawant
Kunal is an Investment Analyst in Samarthya’s Bangalore office where his core responsibilities are deal sourcing and evaluation, financial modelling and industry research as well as portfolio support.
Before joining Samarthya, Kunal was the founder of Neutron, a B2B platform designed to automate accounts receivable processes. Neutron has been instrumental in optimizing payment collections and enhancing customer experiences, thereby strengthening the financial robustness of various enterprises.

Prior to founding Neutron, Kunal worked as a Private Equity Associate at TresVista, collaborating with a global private equity firm with over $500 billion AUM, focusing primarily on their European deals, contributing to successful investments valued at approximately $4 billion.

In his free time, Kunal loves speaking to founders, working out and even watching UFC on a sunday morning. Apart from that, Kunal loves going on adventure and wildlife trips around India- scuba, surfing, skiing. Having founded his own startup previously Kunal can fully understand the trials and tribulations that founders go through in their journey.

Praroop Lodha
Investment Analyst
Praroop Lodha is an Investment Analyst at Samarthya’s Mumbai office where his core responsibilities are evaluating investment opportunities, conducting sector research and due diligence and supporting the portfolio companies. Praroop comes with a diverse background and is passionate about identifying and nurturing promising early and growth-stage startups.
During his academic years at IIT Bombay while pursuing civil engineering, he began his investment journey with internships at Picus Capital, Sauce.VC, and Machani Group. He served as the Head of Marketing at his college's Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell), overseeing major events and competitions where he first got acquainted with the buzzing start-up ecosystem in India. He even represented his college at Expo 2020 in Dubai, gaining valuable insights into the global startup ecosystem.
Praroop Lodha
Investment Analyst
At Samarthya, Praroop evaluates investment opportunities across sectors and works closely with the founders of many of Samarthya’s portfolio companies to support them in their scale up journey. He’s a true baniya-Marwari, enjoys exploring Rajasthani and Gujarati cuisines and discussing traditional businesses on Sundays. He's also passionate about travel, cricket (especially about RCB and Virat Kohli), and loves listening to podcasts on business and economics.

Bhargav Chaudhari
Investment Analyst
Bhargav is an Investment Analyst at Samarthya’s Mumbai office, focusing on deal sourcing, evaluating businesses and analysing hot and boring sectors equally. His responsibilities also include making Samarthya’s name in the industry by pursuing necessary engagement activities through various social media platforms.
While pursuing an Economics degree at IIT Bombay, Bhargav started exploring the startup ecosystem by participating in various activities in the college. This led him to become the Head of Media and Communications at the college’s Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell), where he managed to grow the organisation’s online presence exponentially through his creative work. His prior experience includes an internship at Eximius Ventures and an early stage e-commerce startup, Fibr.
Bhargav Chaudhari
Investment Analyst
Apart from his interest in business, Bhargav loves reading and writing about solutions to questions that make him curious. He plays ultimate frisbee occasionally and is an avid follower of world geopolitics. When he is not working, you would often find him listening and engaging into deep conversations about life.
